Be at the heart of Inkle’s growth—work with founders, fix what falls through the cracks, and drive impact by owning key projects that shape our startup’s present and future.
About Inkle:
Inkle is a US tax & accounting software startup based in San Francisco and Bangalore. We exclusively serve US technology startups. We're on a mission to make accounting, tax and compliance easy, scalable, affordable and on-demand for US-registered companies - using software and human services. We are a team of passionate and creative individuals who believe in the power of technology to simplify complex processes. Inkle launched in 2022, and already serves well over 500 US companies, and we’re growing fast. We’re backed by leading global VC funds.
About the team and this role:
Inkle has grown to serve hundreds of the most innovative companies in the world. We’re at the forefront of disruption in our space. And yet we’re still a scrappy startup. The co-founders need help figuring out a lot of internal and external things which are falling through the cracks. We’ve identified a clear need for a new vacancy directly assisting the CEO (and to some extent the CTO) in the following short-term and long-term focus areas.
Responsibilities:
- User Metrics: work closely with the CEO and product/other teams to implement a wide-scale user metrics monitoring dashboards. This will contribute to A/B testing, product research, and reporting to stakeholders.
- Financial Metrics: take ownership of constructing and maintaining our detailed financial models. Keep them constantly updated (historic) and work on future modelling (forecasting scenarios).
- Company management and financial bookkeeping accounts: own this and ensure it is fresh every month without fail. Currently this is done by a contractor
- Investor relations & fundraising: take complete ownership of the fundraising pitchdecks, memos and dataroom. When investors ask for cohort/conversion/attribution data, go find it and present it.
- Internal company management: stock options, captable, legal, trademark oversight: own these aspects and execute seamlessly for the CEO as instructed.
- Board prep: help the CEO prep for board meetings with written material, and board minutes/resolutions.
- Corporate Goals: help CEO set the overall goals of the company and how it waterfalls down the org.
- Internal stakeholder management: help CEO to push culture, engagement, OKR and performance infra is being driven in conjunction with HR.
- Partnerships: assist the CEO with partial involvement in the US partnerships team, specifically on the cross-border and India elements of partnerships.
- Assist the CEO and Marketing Team with events strategy (our own speaker events, mixers, co-sponsored dinners). This means getting your hands dirty with all aspects of event logistics and execution, as well as attending conferences and other networking events.
- End-to-end project manage new product launches which the CEO is personally incubating, until the product/GTM/support teams can take over.
Who we’re looking for:
- You have to be super good/fast/detailed at making decks, spreadsheets and documents. 90% of your work will be this. It's not so fun.
- Extreme proactiveness. This is the number one trait we’re looking for. We will not micromanage you - you must be a complete self-starter, and make yourself super busy and just take care of things without being asked.
- Very high attention to detail. This is super important.
- Very good with numbers, metrics, spreadsheets, financial models, formulae and data. No need to code, but certainly just super comfortable with numbers. No need to know all about metrics already, but you must be willing and capable to learn them intimately.
- Working with lots of softwares - speed is of the essence, and you must be comfortable using AI tools to get even faster.
- Communication is key: you’ll need very strong English (written and spoken) and absolute willingness to overcommunicate without being asked.
- 1-2 years of work experience, ideally at a US-focused B2B SaaS company - but this is not mandatory.
- Travel when required in India and the US, but based in Bengaluru.
- Working hours: Monday-Friday, based in our Bengaluru office, you’ll hopefully be fine to work afternoons until late nights, in order to collaborate with our SF office and customers/partners.
